NFIB: "Katie Muth is a rubber stamp for radical special interests from Washington D.C.”September 27, 2022
“Katie Muth’s decided vote on one of the most regressive taxes in Pennsylvania history is just another example of why we need a new state senator. Energy prices are already going up. The last thing we need is to further hurt families, seniors and local businesses,” said Greg Moreland, State Director of National Federation of Independent Business. “Katie Muth acts like she’s for the little guy, but in reality, she is a rubber stamp for radical special interests from Washington D.C.”
Jim Snell, Business Manager, Steamfitter Local 420 backs Florio along with his organization.September 16, 2022
“Katie Muth likes to boast about her support for working men and women. But actions speak louder than words. Time and time again, Katie Muth has voted against jobs for our union workers. In this economy, we simply can’t afford Katie Muth any longer. We need a leader like Jessica Florio. She is someone we can trust. Jessica Florio will defend the rights of working men and women and push policies that will create jobs and help union workers.” – Jim Snell, Business Manager, Steamfitters Local 420
The Greater Reading Chamber PAC Supports Jessica Florio for State SenateAugust 5, 2022
Chester County, PA – “I’m proud to earn the support of the Greater Reading Chamber PAC,” said Jessica Florio, candidate for State Senate. “While families and seniors struggle through inflation and a recession, now more than ever, we need leaders who will work alongside our business communities to help them create good-paying, family sustaining jobs. We do this by ensuring competitive tax rates compared to other states and reducing and eliminating onerous regulations that hinder growth.”
The Greater Reading Chamber PAC is a non-partisan organization that supports candidates who are pro-business and pro-growth. The GRC PAC is comprised of business and community leaders across Berks County who know Berks County needs leaders that will support economic development, grow jobs, and cut down on bureaucratic red tape.

Jessica Florio Admonishes Senator MuthJune 8, 2022
Honey Brook, PA – Jessica Florio, candidate for State Senate, released the following statement regarding Senator Muth’s actions and inaction through record high inflation.
“Every major news outlet reported that Pennsylvania electricity rates would be increasing for consumers by up to 46% this month. These increases come on the heels of historic inflation, gasoline prices that have doubled, and high grocery bills. Our State Senator is doing nothing to protect our interests and support her constituents during a time when 83% of Americans describe the economy as poor as reported by Wall Street Journal.
In fact, she’s not even in our district.
Muth is in Allegheny County fighting against domestic energy production as reported on Monday. Before that, she was in Susquehanna County suing to block a permit for a water treatment facility that was issued by Governor Wolf’s own Department of Environmental Protection.
Worse. When she votes, she hurts us. On April 4th, Muth was the deciding vote that stopped an override of the implementation of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). In case you are unaware, the Independent Fiscal Office reported a week before her vote that RGGI would increase energy costs in Pennsylvania by $800 million (up to 30%). These increases are in addition to the increases we are facing this month.
Senator Muth is either unaware of the struggling families and seniors in her own district who are trying to make ends meet, or she believes these people are a necessary sacrifice for her radical anti-energy, ultra-left wing policies. Make no mistake about it. Senator Muth is a Pennsylvania member of the squad. She is AOC in PA.
As State Senator, I would vote to override RGGI. I would support a reduction or pause on the gasoline tax. And, I would work to find ways to support our families and seniors who are trying to make ends meet.”
Florio Rebukes Senator Muth for Exacerbating Pennsylvania’s Economic WoesApril 5, 2022
Honey Brook, PA – The Pennsylvania Senate came within 1 vote of delaying the immediate implementation of Governor Wolf’s proposed Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) regulation, a job-crushing regulatory tax that will cost thousands of union workers their jobs and impose a regressive $800 million electricity tax that’ll ultimately be paid for by Pennsylvania residents.
Jessica Florio, candidate for the 44th State Senate District, rebuked Senator Muth on being the deciding vote in favor of allowing this initiative to move forward, “It is hard to understand what Senator Muth was thinking. To be the deciding vote in favor of the most regressive tax in Pennsylvania history, while families are bearing the brunt of historic, runaway inflation with many struggling to pay for life essential needs, including home energy, is unconscionable. This is just another example of a long list of votes and statements that prove Senator Muth is out-of-touch and would rather score points with the extreme-left of her party than work to help the people of the 44th District.”
Last week, the Pennsylvania Independent Fiscal Office (IFO) warned Pennsylvania Senators that the RGGI Electricity Tax will increase consumer electricity costs by $800 million which could further increase rates by 30 percent or more. The RGGI Electricity Tax, if not stopped by the courts, will be the most regressive tax in Pennsylvania, which was also acknowledged by the IFO who confirmed that low-income families and fixed income seniors/retirees would be the biggest victims of the RGGI Tax.
Florio continued, “While I agree that we should take reasonable steps to reduce carbon emissions, RGGI is an overly aggressive approach that is premature and harmful because renewable and clean energy sources need more time to develop in efficiency, availability, and affordability. As Senator, I will take an all-of-the-above approach to our energy policies.”

The Montgomery County Republican Committee Endorsed Jessica Florio for State SenateMarch 1, 2022
Montgomery County, PA – “We have way too many people in government who got there on the wings of discontent in our country. These people only serve to push divisive rhetoric and pander to the fringe. It’s time to send them into retirement starting with radical leftist, Katie Muth,” said Elizabeth Preate Havey, Chair of the Montgomery County Republican Committee. “Now more than ever, we need real people leading us. People who have experienced the difficulties of the pandemic and know what our communities need to recover. Jessica is one of those people. She’s a local leader, serving as President of her Borough Council. She’s an educator who has devoted her career to helping and teaching students with special needs. Jessica Florio Announces Campaign for State SenateFebruary 28, 2022
Honey Brook, PA – “Our district lacks the representation and constituent support that we need from our State Senator in Harrisburg. For too long, national partisan rhetoric has taken precedence over helping the residents of the 44th State Senate District. That’s why I am running for State Senate,” said Jessica Florio. “I will bring people together, build coalitions, and bridge divides. My message is of hope and empowerment. The 44th State Senate District is made up of diverse communities, but we all want the same things, safe communities, good-paying jobs, and a hopeful future for our children. This will be my focus.”
